In 2003, I worked with the educational foundation, Success for All, on a series of awarding-winning DVDs titled "The Sound and The Furry."

I designed and built a cast of critters that help children learn to read. I co-wrote the scripts, performed the main character, Alphie the Alligator, and directed many of the episodes.

The series received a Telly Award for best educational production.

The Sound and the Furry

In 1983, I founded a company called Handemonium. I design and build award-winning puppet characters for children's television and video. In addition to creating the characters, I have worked as a writer, director and performer.

Will D. Beest and Jessica D'Antelope are a couple of wildebeests. They're also "the gnus with the news." They hosted “Animal Planet News,” a show about animals making headlines.

The series of 30 shorts appeared on the Discovery Channel's Animal Planet network.

I created the puppets, performed the lead character and helped write some of the scripts.

When NPR began the intricate process of replacing its audio and script-writing software, the company wanted to keep employees updated on the progress of the new system.

I created Nipper the SHARC. Nipper hosted a series of video newscasts that kept people in the loop and introduced them to some of the features of the new software.

I built and performed Nipper. I also wrote the scripts.

You Don't Say

Meet Kaz, TV's hottest, hippest and hairiest host. He's the star of a talk show for kids titled "You Don't Say."

Guests for the pilot episode included ABC's and NPR's Cokie Roberts and teen soccer sensation Freddy Adu.

I created and performed Kaz. I also wrote the script and co-wrote the music.

DinoRock

The Grammy-nominated children's entertainers, DinoRock, commissioned me to be a featured performer and writer for their television pilot.

I created five puppets and co-wrote the script for a children's science television show titled “Dinosaur Rock."

I built and performed Alphie P. Alphadon, a prehistoric possum. I built Einstein, a talking bust of the father of relativity. I also created a baby dinosaur named Harry the Honker, a talking stapler and a talking Rolodex.

Start to Finish

Whoops and Bubbs like to learn why things are the way they are. I brought the buddies to life for the video series "Start to Finish."

It's a show that teaches kids how things are made, how things are done and how magical our everyday day lives can be.

I performed Whoops.

Write-On Dudes

When the educational foundation, Success For All, wanted to produce a "learning-to-write" DVD series,  they commissioned me to create the "Write-on Dudes."

I designed four characters, each representing a different style of writing. I performed the comic-book-loving character, Flash.

Bob is the car customer who never wants to buy.

He likes to kick the tires and take test drives but he just can't close the deal.

Fowler Toyota in Tulsa, Oklahoma commissioned him to show car buyers what they'd be missing if they acted like Bob.
